About

In 2017, a journey from the Southern Hemisphere to the Northern opened a pocket of time—an invitation to restart, get curious, and fall under the gentle spell of clay.

Through kindred spirits, shared tables, and the quiet magic of community, Mellow came to life in New York City, founded by Elise Grace Wilken. Since 2022, each piece has been dreamed up, shaped by hand, and finished with care in our little Mellow home at 38 Allen Street.

At Mellow, you'll find one-of-a-kind vessels and a gathering of beloved forms that have slowly evolved over the past nine years—objects made to be held, used, and lived with, each carrying traces of the hands and stories that brought them into being.

The shelves in our store are ever-changing. New pieces are continually finding their way into the shop—some returning from our core collection, and entirely new creations, born from curiosity, play, and the ongoing conversation between hands and clay.

Community is woven into the fabric of Mellow. We are endlessly inspired by the people and places around us and often find ourselves creating alongside local cafés, businesses, and kindred brands. Together, we shape custom mugs, plates, our beloved incense bowls, and other small objects for daily rituals—pieces made to be held, gathered around, and quietly folded into the stories of shared spaces.
